The intensity of all =
natural,
technological, and civil emergencies (hazards) will be classified in one of=
the
following categories initially and will upgraded as logical.
I. LIMITED
AREA IMPACT RESPONSE (LEVEL 1)
This is an emergency incident which is localized in character and which probably will not have an impact on the general public = or a portion thereof. Information on the emergency incident will be reported to = the appropriate E-911 Communications Center, which will take the appropriate ac= tion in the dispatch of emergency response resources.
II. POTENTIAL BROADER A=
REA
IMPACT RESPONSE AND ALERT (LEVEL 2)
This is an emergency incident which has the potentia= l to escalate to a higher level and have an impact on the general public or a portion thereof for a reasonably limited time. Information on the emergency incident will be reported to the appropriate E-911 Communications Center, w= hich will take the appropriate action in the standby notification of appropriate emergency response resources, and/or dispatch of appropriate emergency resources to an appropriate staging area, and/or dispatch of emergency resp= onse resources to the incident site, along with preparation for the activation of appropriate early warning signal and communications resources.
III. BR=
OAD
AREA IMPACT RESPONSE AND ALERT(LEVEL3)
This is an emergency incident which will definitely = have an impact on the general public or a portion thereof for a reasonably limit= ed time. Upon notification, the appropriate E-911 Communications Center will d= ispatch appropriate local emergency response resources to the incident site and appropriate staging area and activate the appropriate early warning signal = and communications resources.
IV. MAJOR BROAD AREA IMPACT
RESPONSE AND ALERT (LEVEL 4)
This is an emergency incident of major and/or complex proportion, which will have a serious impact on the general public or a por= tion thereof. The appropriate E-911 Communications Center, upon notification, wi= ll dispatch appropriate local emergency response resources to the incident site and appropriate staging area, activate the appropriate early warning signal= and communications resources, request that appropriate emergency management personnel activate the appropriate Emergency Operations Room, and consider requesting mutual aid emergency response and emergency support resources to assist in resolving the emergency.
